Physiotherapy is a natural way of promoting the body's healing response to injury
by the use of Physical and electrotherapeutic means.
Physiotherapy may involve the use of massage to stimulate blood flow and improve lymphatic drainage. Massage can also be used to mobilise scar tissue in damaged musles and ligaments to help increase flexibility and reduce joint stiffness. This also helps to prevent a recurrence of the injury. Manipulation of the spine, cervical, thoracic and Lumbar is commonly used to increase joint stiffness which has come about as a result of age related changes, arthritis or injury such as whiplash.
Electrotherapy treatment is often used such as Ultrasound to help promote the bodies healing response to injury. It is used for all muscle, tendon and ligament injuries particularly when fibres have been torn and swelling exists. Exercise is used to increase strength and flexibility in a graduated rehabiliation back into normal activity. Acupuncture has been used at NS & SIP Ltd for over 20 years and is effective in the relief of pain from many muscle and joint related problems. It can be use on its own or in conjuction with other therapies.
Before any treatment is given the Physiotherapist will assess your condition to arrive at a diagnosis and formulate a treatment plan which might include any of the above treatments. If further information is required, Mri scans, x-rays and Ultrasound scans can be arranged very quickly privately and sometimes through your GP. All medical insurance shemes are accepted such as BUPA, Norwich Union. PPP etc. Our aim through treatment is to restore your dysfunction, relieve your pain and get you back to work, sport or play as quickly as possible. |
