This is movement of nerve tissue done actively through exercise
or passively through assisted mobilisation.
There are some conditions where nerve tissue becomes limited in it’s movement which
can result in pain, numbness, tingling or weakness. Such conditions might be
disc prolapses, sciatica, whiplash injury traction ( stretching ) injury.
After fracture and surgical fixatiion or after time spent in plaster of paris.
Retsoring normal movement improves function and decreases pain.
Mobilisation can be achieved by massage across the tissue through which the nerves pass,
by moving joints across which nerves pass or by moving the whole upper
or lower limb to stretch a nerve throughout it course. |
